CSI (Consumer Sensory Insight) Analyst - Your next position?

The CSI Analyst manages the execution of Sensory Evaluation and Testing according to best practice protocols and project plans defined by the CSI Manager / Sr. Manager and contributes to the delivery of key findings and recommendations to the business. The CSI Analyst works closely with the FC&A team to execute projects i.e. coordinates product preparation, aligns on the use of SenseIt® Givaudan sensory language and selected testing protocols etc., and manages the CSI Technician to deliver projects timely and accurately. The CSI Analyst is also responsible for managing the Sensory Expert Panel what involves monitoring and adjusting as necessary the panel performance and engagement. The CSI Analyst at times represents Givaudan's expertise in executing Sensory Evaluation and Testing, leading Sensory panels, and application of SenseIt® Givaudan sensory language with Customers under the guidance of the CSI Manager / Sr. Manager.


In this position you will be:

Responsibility one:

  • Manage the execution of Sensory Evaluation and Testing projects according to protocols and delivers clear and actionable findings
  • Run Sensory Evaluation and Testing projects according to best practice protocols and set timings i.e. prepare instructions, and computer designs for data collection and manage overall test logistics
  • Work with FC&A teams and guide the CSI Technician to coordinate the preparation of test products and evaluation/test logistics 
  • Analyze results of discrimination tests, write reports and discuss results with key constituents 
  • Participate in the analysis and reporting of descriptive & consumer sensory tests under the guidance of the CSI Manager and support the CSI Manager / Sr. Manager in translating the output of Sensory Evaluation and Testing into consumer and business-driven findings to answer project objectives
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing I.e. create and enter information in relevant Givaudan systems


Responsibility two:

  • Manage the Sensory Panels
  • Manage the Sensory Expert Panel i.e. maintain performance and motivation of panelists and provide ongoing training
  • Under the guidance from the CSI Manager / Sr. Manager, manage the overall planning and maintenance of the Expert panel i.e. recruitment, screening, con-tracts, yearly schedules, performance reviews etc.
  • Manage the screening and maintenance of the internal trained panel for discrimination tests
  • Monitor and report on the overall panel management effectiveness and suggest efficiency improvements where relevant
  • Help maintain the flavor language library by working together with FC&A and the APAC SenseIt® Champion


Responsibility three:

  • Contribute to overall CSI best practices and capabilities
  • Supervise and mentor the CSI Technician to drive performance and engagement
  • Organize Lab tours, run SenseIt® Givaudan sensory language and Panel training and capability presentations for internal and external stakeholders under the guidance of the CSI Manager / Sr. Manager
  • Document knowledge and tool/approach best practice guidelines internally
  • Participate in cross-segment and regional CSI capability-building projects i.e. Test & Learn program


Your professional profile includes:

  • Should have a min. 3 years of experience in managing or leading sensory panels
  • Should have experience managing sensory projects from conducting fieldwork to analyzing and reporting of data
  • Some experience in consumer research is ideal but not mandatory
  • Understand and execute research effectively
  • Generate and deploy insights with impact 
  • Sensory Science: experience in working with basic scientific principles, methods, and techniques within Sensory
  • Consumer sensory research: understand and know how to work with basic Consumer Sensory research methodologies 
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
  • Attention of details
  • Sense of urgency
  • Teamwork
