As a Consumer Sensory Insight Manager, you will be responsible for developing strategy, vision, and implementation of insight plans relevant to the segment and market. You are required to build functional excellence in consumer and sensory insights for the segment/market. In this role, you will be based in Mumbai and report directly to the Head of CSI - SAMEA.
In this position you will be:
- The role requires the ability to solve insight related problems at a segment/market level
- The role will be responsible for providing relevant and actionable support to the business across marketing, flavor creation, application and commercial teams
- The role will be responsible for setting the consumer, sensory and product agendas for the relevant segment/market
- This role is required to manage and integrate extensive amounts of information, data and insights ensuring knowledge is applied and leveraged where relevant across the segment/market.
- The role must influence and build confidence at all levels throughout the segment/market organization.
- Must demonstrate resilience and flexibility to effectively operate within the organization.
- Trust, respect and transparency are critical to enabling the person to inspire the stakeholders.
- Consumer and Product Insight to the Regional Flavour Business
- Keeps abreast of developments in new techniques and methodologies
- Partners with Insight Innovation Leader and/or Regional Consumer Sensory Insight Head and other partners (within and outside of Givaudan) to develop new methodologies and languages
- Owns the Sense IT language for the segment/market and partners with colleagues in other regions to ensure consistent language evolution
- Ensure adherence to best-practice Givaudan insight guidelines
- Work with the Country Marketing/Regional Consumer Sensory Insight Head to recruit skilled staff and builds a culture of teamwork and collaboration
- Conducts ongoing performance evaluations and development discussions to create a results-orientated mentality, provide career growth opportunities and build bench strength
Your professional profile includes:
- Advanced Degree in Food Science, Consumer Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology or related area
- With 10+ years of insight experience with a solid understanding of sensory and consumer research techniques and a strong emphasis on general insight application to segments/markets
- Minimum 3 years people management.
- With mixed client and service side insight experience is preferred
- Project management experience, communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Exposure to food and beverage consumer packaged goods companies strongly preferred
- Ability to contribute at a strategic level with the Point of View (POV) of the consumer and product expert for relevant segment/market
- Track in designing and managing complex research studies
- Proven track record in identifying segment/market research needs and developing segment /market-specific insight strategies to inform the regional insight plans
- Ability to champion new ideas and techniques
- A proven ability to bring the very best out of suppliers, both in terms of servicing and encouraging them to develop new techniques
- Strong analytical skills and ability to draw business-relevant conclusions
- Proactive, problem-solving attitude and team-oriented, collaborative style
- A strong history of quickly gaining credibility, partnering with and successfully across the stakeholder pool
- Be the objective voice for the consumer and product expertise for relevant segments/markets.
- Ability to build effective relationships and partnerships across multiple functional areas for the relevant segment/market.
