About the role

As the leader of the Food Flavouring industry, Givaudan has a track record in transforming industry standards. The Flavour Application Manager role wants to engage with customers as a true partner by directly contributing to the growth of their brands and engaging with their end consumers.

You will be based in Mumbai and you will report to the Head of Application.

 

Main Responsibilities

As an Application Manager for sweet goods, you will be responsible end to end product development from conceptualization, to table top prototyping and scaling up for commercialization of the product. You will be technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for Sweet Goods Applications. You will be based in Mumbai and directly reports to the Application Manager.

 

As an Application Manager with Givaudan, you will responsible as below:

  • Complete daily brief-related tasks and apply knowledge during the flavour selection, evaluation and application development
  • Be a technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for specific applications
  • Lead evaluations of flavours in Sweet Goods applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations
  • Select flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e. customer, regu-latory, legislation, cost) and suggest improvements for the most common applications
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers; will gain their trust and respect
  • Maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles
  • Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in specific applications
  • Coach, train, and motivate technicians and technologists
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised lab environment following EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines

 

Your professional profile includes:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Food Technology/ Engineering with min 10 years’ experience in Bakery & Confectionery FMCG, New Product Development or production.
  • Understanding of most Sweet Goods (Bakery & Confectionery) applications, ingredients, and processes with practical experience in customers’ manufacturing environment
  • Expert technical problem solving skills in Bakery & Confectionery and basic skills in multiple applications areas like Healthcare & Beverages
  • Knowledge of RM, ingredients, storage, distribution and product stability.
  • Experience with many of the flavour reactions/interactions in common food products and the ability to recommend flavour modifications based on performance
  • Project management skills with the complete ability to lead large development projects
  • Lead customer projects including customer visits.
  • Translate market trends into products for key customers
  • Manage technicians and technologists
  • Good team player
  • Manage the performance of group members to meet or exceed the goals
  • Take responsibility to build a diverse and inclusive environment and leverage differences in styles, thinking and approaches
  • Provide direction for innovation
  • Personal profile and soft skills
  • Confident cross functional communicator (both in English and the local language)
