As a Consumer Sensory Insights team member within Givaudan - the global leader in the flavour and fragrance industry - you will be part of the Consumer Sensory Insights Europe team. You will be mainly responsible for leading our sensory expert panel for the snacks category and managing sensory projects investigating sensory taste and flavour profiles to guide flavor creation. You will work closely with the Sensory Insights Manager, local CSI Managers, and other panel leaders.

Sounds interesting?

It could be your perfect opportunity if, like us, you are a creative & enthusiastic individual who is passionate about sensory testing.
In this exciting role, you will:

Lead our sensory expert panel and sensory studies for the snacks category to create relevant sensory insights that guide flavor creation:

  • With the support of the Sensory Insights Manager, interact with the internal project team to understand the request and propose the best sensory approach to suit the needs
  • Together with the Sensory Insights Manager, manage the planning for the project pipeline to make full use of our sensory capabilities
  • Work with application teams to coordinate the preparation of products for the tests
  • Prepare and execute the sensory panel sessions
  • Analyze the sensory data, write reports, and communicate the results to the internal stakeholders (sales, technical team, marketing team)
  • Track panel performance, and organize training sessions to maintain a well-performing and motivated sensory panel
  • Recruit and select new panelists when needed
  • Support sensory data management

Support the 2024 and 2025 sensory innovation pipeline:

  • Run literature reviews on key innovation topics to uncover relevant new developments in the sensory field
  • Together with the rest of the team, support the initiatives of the 2024 sensory innovation roadmap (e.g. sensory methodologies, AI, digital tools, and storytelling)
  • Help shape the 2025 sensory innovation roadmap by aligning with our local CSI managers and other internal stakeholders and identifying new areas of exploration
  • Be involved in the continuous development of our globally aligned sensory language capabilities

Your qualifications

  • A creative & enthusiastic individual who is passionate about food experiences, sensory science, and consumer understanding
  • Undergraduate or Masters student in food science, sensory science, or consumer insights

  • Data visualization skills are a plus
  • Likes to take on responsibility and is able to drive small-size projects
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills in both Dutch and English. Ability to present findings in a concise manner
  • Eligible to work in the Netherlands
  • Easily connects with colleagues and is a natural networker

What do we offer you?

During your internship, you will get the opportunity to provide support in planning and executing regional CSI projects. You will learn about the sensory perception of key products in Europe. Under the assistance of the Sensory Insights Manager, you will translate these insights into meaningful recommendations for our flavourist and application technologists and participate in the creation of consumer-winning food experience solutions for our customers.

You will have the possibility to put into practice all the tools learned during your studies: discrimination tests (triangle, Tetrad, ranking to target,…) and descriptive tests (QDA, CATA, Sorting,…).

For a full-time internship you will receive a minimum compensation of €500 gross per month compensation.  In case of no OV card, reimbursement of public transportation costs or housing allowance (€ 250,- gross) in case moving closer to Givaudan and having double housing costs.
