The Trade Affairs Operations Team Lead manages and coordinates all customs-related activities of both our Taste & Wellbeing and Fragrance & Beauty sites located in Benelux countries.

As the TA Operations Team Lead, you are empowered to build your team out of the European Trade Affairs Operations Organization. We count on you to put in place the organizational structure, define customs processes on a country level that ensure compliance in trade affairs, and also optimize processes through the team that delivers on expected business benefits. 

 

The primary mission of the Benelux Operations Team Lead is to optimize the daily customs clearance procedures and ensure compliance with trade regulations while optimizing the payment of customs duties. Coordinate and support the European Distribution Centre in Belgium from a customs and compliance point of view. You will also be the one who coordinates the local site activities related to customs and you will represent the Trade Affairs and Supply Chain Organizations towards customs authorities.

You will be located in Naarden and you will report to the European Trade Affairs OPS Manager.

 

You will:

  • Act as the official contact point for all communication with Customs administration and other relevant parties in relation to specific cases
  • Act as a contact with a legal advisor and you will follow up on pending cases until disputes are solved
  • Follow up on new local trade regulations and implement them when necessary
  • Support and monitor the European Distribution Centre in Belgium for both divisions Taste & Wellbeing and Fragrance & Beauty
  • Monitor and report operational performance to the management
  • Identify, report, and act upon potential non-compliance situations
  • Propose suggestions and potential process improvements to increase operational efficiency and implement the improvements
  • Ensure process harmonization across sites (country and regional)
  • Assigns tasks and review performance among the team members
  • Provide operational support to all team members and advise team members and stakeholders on specific aspects of the work and complex cases
  • Contribute to the training of the team and provide coaching to them
  • Implement the Group’s trade affairs policy and ensure adherence from local organizations
  • Support the Corporate Trade Affairs group in implementing best practices
  • Monitor and report operational performance to the Trade Affairs Group

 

You are:

  • You have a university degree and/or relevant experience in the import/export area
  • Professional customs certification and/or relevant work experience in this field in the Netherlands
  • You have around 4 years of experience in a relevant role
  • You speak English and Dutch fluently
  • Solid SAP knowledge
  • Customs business, legislation, valuation, and regulation understanding
  • You are familiar with local regulations and policies regarding customs and supply chain operations
  • You can find the common ground and collaborate with colleagues at all levels
