Process Engineer (Safety)

Job Purpose
Reporting to the EHS Manager the Process Engineer (Safety) will provide support to various capital investment projects during the design phase on Safety aspects (chemical & process risk assessment, regulatory, engineering solutions). Ensure robust follow-up on project in area of expertise ensuring consistency with EHS Strategy, commitments and goals. 

 

Core Responsibilities
•    Providing Safety engineering expertise and knowledge on capital investment projects
•    Collaborate with engineering team in the application of safety local regulations and company global standards
•    Held on the development of user requirement specifications (URS)
•    Recognizing hazards and prepare EHS hazards mitigation plans
•    Ensure that all chemical & process risks are assessed, and validate the solutions to mitigate them, over the entire engineering design phases
•    Review engineering documentation with an EHS perspective
•    Manage in close collaboration with engineering teams the EHS pre start-up review  
•    Providing EHS education and training to the project employees
•    Stay abreast with EHS regulations and actively applies knowledge to projects daily tasks
•    Analyze in a periodic process the EHS results and management system linked to the performance in the project
•    Consult and inform regularly EHS Manager, global Ingredient EHS Director, and group experts on project progress and the risk mitigation measures 


You:
•    Degree in Engineering or Safety Process.
•    At least 2 years of working experience in chemical/consumer goods (beverages for example).
•    Worked on capital investment projects during the design phase as a Safety expert.
•    Appropriate country EHS qualifications/certifications 
•    Chemical process safety, installation process safety, occupational health & ergonomics experience desirable  
•    Fluent English, local Language essential
•    Expertise on the interpretation and the implementation of local regulation & legislations and the international codes and standards e.g. NFPA, ISO, UL/FM, IBC, EU machinery directive, ATEX or IECex, ASHRAE.
