Import and Export Coordinator, your future position?

Reporting to the Demand Planning Manager, you will be in charge of the daily operational activities related with customs and transport processing of our shipments, transport follow up and deliveries of goods, you will coordinate and to warranty the administrative processes that comply with local customs law to receive the shipments promptly.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

Import and export administration

  • Track and monitoring of shipments, managing the solution of any discrepancy that affects the arrival on time of the shipment with carriers, customs brokers and internal partners.
  • Ensure with the customs broker the correct compliance in all administrative procedures related to customs clearance.
  • Daily follow-up, shipments by sea, air and train, ensuring the arrival and informing of any inconvenience that affects the fulfillment of the arrival on time to internal customers.
  • Ensure compliance with the administrative process for the payment of expense accounts of suppliers related to cargo shipments.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate logistics performance, KPIs that allow the detection and improvement of areas of opportunity.
  • Participation and compliance assurance with internal and external trade affairs audits.
  • Maintain databases related to the transport operation in SAP.
  • Ensuring compliance on timely matter with administrative processes related to importation of goods, such as import permits.
  • Analyze all aspects of logistics to determine the most cost-efficient material flow whether related to routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.

 

People management

  • May lead a small team of shipment administrators.
  • Monitor, advise and provide training to import staff with regard to the interpretation of import/export laws and regulations, applicable procedures and product classification.

 

The position is based in Querétaro, Mexico with a hybrid working model (4 days on site, 1 day of home office).

 

Your professional profile includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, International business, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of material transport flow, local and international material/product safety/security norms and regulations business
  • Advanced level of English.
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse process flow
  • Proficiency shipping and receiving regulations and protocol
  • Knowledge of transportation supplier landscape
  • Solid IT skills (SAP preferred)
  • Expertise in regulations applicable to import/export
