Indirect Materials & Services Procurement Manager, your future position?

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you'll develop and implement business procurement strategies for all sites in MX for all categories in scope, to improve cost, both P&L and balance sheet following Category strategies. You will identify and reduce risk, according to our business objectives, corporate guidelines and local policies working closely with local teams in Americas, Regional and Global Category Management, Spot Buy Team, Givaudan Business Solutions and Business Stakeholders.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

Procurement Strategy Implementation

  • Manage Procurement of Indirect Materials & Services for Mexico including the acquired entities.
  • Lead the country and site specific strategic sourcing process based on business needs. This includes identifying cross-site and site-specific procurement contribution opportunities and driving these projects across sites in Mexico.
  • Introduce and drive innovative ideas to change ways of working /specifications into the company with an outside-in mindset.
  • Support the category management teams in the roll out of global and regional strategies. This includes sourcing, pricing, rejections, supplier inventory, supply chain, obsolescence and resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • Implement global, regional and local agreements and support the financial targets.
  • Foster collaboration between global, regional and local procurement, GBS and key stakeholders by ensuring transparency and alignment
  • Advise and assist stakeholders in the evaluation and pricing of alternate materials. Advise on trade practices, pricing, market conditions, delivery terms, and utilization of technical services of vendors.
  • Support the responsible sourcing and sustainability projects implementation.

 

Supplier Management

  • Guide the sourcing process by developing intimate knowledge of selected supply markets through study, analysis, personal contacts with suppliers, and any other sources of market information.
  • Drive vendor selection and consolidation. Initiate search for new or alternative services and materials.
  • Solicit and analyze quotes, negotiate price and delivery terms and investigate invoice discrepancies.
  • Negotiate annual and long-term contracts.
  • Carry out local negotiations with suppliers and ensure adequate contract cover within their portfolio and for the spend.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of bid results as per guidelines
  • Investigate and approve the facilities, quality and financial responsibility of potential suppliers.
  • Ensure appropriate risk evaluation.
  • Investigate and approve facilities, quality and financial responsibility of potential suppliers.
  • Measure performance of vendors concerning quality of work, costs, timelines and other related parameters.
  • Facilitate sourcing and contracting issue escalation and resolution

 

Market Research

  • Analyze trends and market movements for use in making sound procurement decisions.
  • Make category specific recommendations to Category Management for Mexico

 

Processes

  • Integrate the processes to conform to the guidelines developed within the SAP and SRM system
  • Maintain and expand the usage of catalogues
  • Support the integration of processes in new Givaudan sites
  • Ensure Change management related to GBS

 

 

People Management

  • Manage the local Procurement team.
  • Secure the necessary skills and knowledge within the team through recruitment and trainings.
  • Develop team member's understanding of roles and responsibilities and goals

 

Stakeholder Relationship

The position is based in Pedro Escobedo, Querétaro with an hybrid working model (4 day at the office, 1 day at home).

 

Your professional profile includes:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a Procurement within an international environment
  • Management experience in previous roles.
  • Fluent English.
  • Understanding of procurement processes and systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Financial and analytical skills
  • Project Management skills
  • Capacity to predict/anticipate market trends
