Production Chemist, your future role?

 

You will be an important part of the industrial operations of our Fragrance and Ingredients department. You will manage the efficiency of the chemical production process to create intermediate and finished ingredient fragrances products following Givaudan’s world-class quality, cost and safety standards to meet our customers’ expectations.

 

You will report into the Production Manager and you will work on-site in our manufacturing facility located at Pedro Escobedo, near Queretaro city. We'll ask that you reside nearby the plant.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

 

  • Monitor the production process to ensure an efficient manufacture for each product following costs, deadlines, safety and quality standards.
  • Manage projects progress including monitoring timelines, raw materials, equipment availability and yields to ensure project success.
  • Monitor costs and ensure compliance with the budget target.
  • Produce and conduct analysis of components and finished products following the manufacturing plan. Analyze scientific data. Utilize specialized technical knowledge necessary.
  • Perform physical, analytical or chemical testing of finished fragrances products, material-in-process, or raw materials. Perform calculations as required by testing procedures.
  • Contribute to development initiatives such as those required to improve process understanding, process control, process capability. Implement improvement plans to maintain cost control.
  • Evaluate product and process related issues concerning raw material, process chemistry and equipment troubleshooting and validation.
  • Recommend and elaborate improvements in analytical equipment, procedures and techniques. Implement production and large-scale manufacturing procedures to improve processes and meet quality requirements. Participate in planning activities for all products or processes.
  • Prepare final reports and provide written and verbal updates to supervisors and clients.

Your professional profile includes:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the chemical production industry, in manufacturing operations as Production Chemist in Organic Chemistry.
  • Knowledge of Organic Chemistry and Industrial processes.
  • Knowledge on chemical substances, hazardous material and related local regulations.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement concepts (LEAN).
  • Laboratory and QC techniques experience.
  • Experience in Process and Product Safety.
  • Experience using SAP-
  • Upper-intermediate English.
