Head of Operations, LATAM

 

Join us as the Head of Operations for our T&W division in LATAM. You'll lead Operations and report to the Head of Global Operations. You manage a team of 10 direct reports and a total of 1000 colleagues producing about 50000 tons of products in four manufacturing sites in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico. Your primary responsibilities are to ensure safety, quality standards, timely product delivery, production cost optimization, and sustainability enhancement. You will oversee the EHS, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, Manufacturing Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, and Logistics functions. As an integral part of the regional leadership team driving the P&L, you will collaborate closely with the LATAM Commercial Head and all of the commercial team to drive profitable growth. 

 

The position can be located in Cuernavaca (MX), Sao Paulo (BR), or Buenos Aires (AR).

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategy Development and Execution:

  • You collaborate with various departments at both regional and global levels, including Operations, Commercial, Procurement, and Regulatory, to develop long-term functional strategies and set specific goals. As part of your role, you oversee the implementation of these strategies.

 

Operations management

  • Champion a world-class safety culture, leveraging the Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) methodology. 
  • Ensure that your organization, including all manufacturing sites, meets and exceeds safety, quality, service, cost, and sustainability targets.  
  • Drive continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence, improve product quality, reduce cycle times, ensure on-time-in-full delivery and inventory, and implement cost-saving opportunities. 
  • Promote operational standardization by implementing global Givaudan global best practices, including our essential best practices, EHS Directives, the Givaudan Production System (GPS), and Continuous Improvement Maturity standards.

 

People Management

  • Manage annual HR processes within LATAM Operations, including employee career planning, talent development, succession planning, and the annual salary review.

 

 

Academic and Professional Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related fields
  • An MBA or Master’s Degree in a technical discipline is preferred
  • Over 20 years of experience in manufacturing operations with a solid background in supply chain, quality, and materials management.
  • Extensive experience in M&A, organizational change, operational restructuring, business process redesign, systems implementation, and enterprise risk management.
  • At least 12 years of progressive leadership experience in people management

 

 

 Technical Skills 

  • Expertise in world-class manufacturing, especially LEAN, CI, and BBS/HOP methodologies
  • Comprehensive understanding of business processes and P&L management
  • Strong capabilities in change management
