Job Title: Production Specialist
Reporting: Production Coordinator
General overview:
- Responsible for representing the production perspective in engineering projects and ensuring alignment between operational needs and technical solutions. This role manages and drives key production programs aimed at efficiency, sustainability, organization, and leadership development. Acts as the bridge between Production, Engineering, and other support areas — including Safety, Maintenance, and Quality — ensuring that projects are also connected to Quality requirements, GPS standards, and other relevant operational guidelines. Holds a holistic view of all initiatives, influencing project design, implementation, and continuous improvement to guarantee contributions toward operational excellence, waste reduction, and best‑practice standardization. Additionally, leads Production's implementation activities for projects that do not fall under ManEx scope, ensuring seamless execution and adoption on the shop floor.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the primary production interface in engineering projects, ensuring operational requirements are incorporated into planning, design, and execution phases.
- Manage, coordinate, and monitor all assigned production programs (Zero Waste – Savings, FLI – team training, 5S, Hidalgo – procedure update and development, Time and Motion Study, GPS) to ensure objectives are achieved and benefits fully realized.
- Oversee Management of Change processes, guaranteeing proper evaluation, risk assessment, and documentation for production-impacting changes.
- Drive initiatives focused on process optimization, waste reduction, and productivity improvement across production lines.
- Facilitate standardization and continuous improvement in workplace organization through 5S methodology and leadership coaching programs.
- Lead time and motion studies to identify productivity gaps and propose solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Safety teams to ensure equipment, layout, and processes meet production needs.
- Track KPIs related to program performance, prepare reports, and present findings in operational and strategic meetings.
- Support training and development of operational staff on procedures, production programs, and continuous improvement techniques.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence, sustainability, and proactive problem-solving across all production areas.
Academic background
- University degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, Production Engineering or related field.
- Business intermediate in English.
Professional profile includes
- Extensive and recognized technical expertise.
- Experience of 5 years, at least 3 years in an equivalent position.
- Experience in identifying needs, planning, and performing training.
- Expert understanding and mapping process risk
- Good understanding of manufacturing technologies and product characteristics.
