Sensory Specialist - Your next step?

 

In this exciting job you'll...

  • Perform sensory analysis of raw materials and finished products according to established analytical methods and procedures.
  • Deal with Top Customer rejections and delays.
  • Perform sensory analysis and document management for qualifying new suppliers.
  • Train junior employees in the quality control team and the formation of back-ups.
  • Plan and carry out sensory training and selection of new panelists.
  • Responsible for ensuring the verification of sensory analysis methodology.
  • Participate in defining and drawing up workflows for the laboratory's local, regional and global projects.
  • Ensure correct implementation of internal requirements for sensory analysis.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to compliance with standards.
  • Responsible for compliance with preventive and corrective actions in the sensory area.
  • Responsible for acting directly in the critical analysis of results to support decision making.
  • Lead Quality Control improvement projects and define proactive measures to avoid problems.
  • Ensure the preparation, revision and checking of laboratory documents such as procedures and methods of analysis ensuring good documentation practices and training.
  • Lead the investigation of analytical deviations to identify the root cause using quality tools and CAPAS management.
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering technical training to clients.
  • Monitor area indicators to improve service.
  • Ensure the stock of materials and environmental conditions required for analysis.
  • Ensure the organization, cleanliness and ideal conditions for use of the Sensory Analysis laboratories.
  • Plan and implement sensory analysis projects.
  • Work cross-functionally to provide sensory support in investigations/projects in the operations areas.
  • Develop sensory team members.
  • Responsible for coordinating and driving the implementation of global standards for sensory testing within the department.
  • Monitor trends in sensory results (Quality Notifications from raw materials, quality and customers) to avoid out-of-specification situations and ensure release quality.
  • Coordinate indicators, dashboards and review of descriptive data and performance analysis, proposing improvements for better performance and development of the laboratory.
  • Work on strategies to optimize processes and products.

 

This is an 100% on site position, at our Jaguaré site, reporting to the Quality Control Coordinator.

 

You?

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Food Engineering or related.
  • At least 10 years' experience in sensory analysis.
  • Specialization or post-graduate course in related area.
  • Knowledge of sensory analysis methodologies.
  • Experience in sensory training and selection of new panelists.
  • Knowledge of sensory investigation and trend analysis (OOS and OOT), applying quality tools (PDCA, 5 PQ's, Ishikawa).
  • Experience participating in complex sensory projects, supporting improvements in the laboratory area.
  • Experience in auditing (internal and external).
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Experience in SAP.
  • Advanced English. Spanish Desirable.
