Site Engineering Manager - Your next step?

As a Site Engineering Manager, reporting to the Head of Operations of the site, you will lead the Engineering and Maintenance function in a small/medium manufacturing site with the objective to achieve maximum plant reliability in response to operational activity needs for the local unit.

 

Main responsibilities:

Strategy design and execution

  • Provide input to the local Operations business plan and related goals with regards to engineering projects, production capacity, critical maintenance activities, changes in equipments, spare parts inventory.
  • Define Site Engineering annual targets and objectives based on functional strategy and lead and monitor their achievement.

 

Function management

  • Lead a team of Maintenance & Engineering technicians, and contractors, working on different assignments within engineering and maintenance field.
  • Work with Global and Regional Engineering functions to ensure analysis and implementation of global strategies, plans, or best practices.
  • Establish site master plans to capture all Capex, engineering and maintenance plans and lead their execution to address internal customer requirements in the short, mid and long term.
  • Provide input to global or regional Capex projects to anticipate impact on local activities and resources.
  • Implement local Capex projects (when approved).
  • Manage all routine engineering and maintenance activities, track progress against plan(s) and implement corrective actions in case of deviation.
  • Apply best practices and continuous improvement programs to improve processes and use of resources.
  • Deliver best in class engineering and maintenance service to clients through maintenance work, local projects and coordinate capital investments on site.
  • Maintain compliance of all assets with applicable legal or company standards, and harmonization of standards within the departments.
  • Implement Group Engineering plans, guidelines and directives and organize regular trainings to ensure adherence to these and other guidelines (e.g. EHS).
  • Maintain contact to local authorities.
  • Propose budgets and levels of service for engineering and maintenance activities and execute these within approved limit(s).

 

People management

  • Oversee the execution of annual human resources processes for the local Engineering & Maintenance teams and validate related results.
  • Work with local Operations and regional/global E&M management teams and HR Business Partner(s) in developing a local talent pipeline for the function.
  • Drive the development and promotion of talents within and outside the function.

 

This is an on-site position at our Jaguaré site.  

 

You?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 4 to 7 years’ experience in manufacturing or plant operations, including exposure to factory engineering and maintenance strategy and operational maintenance of production equipment.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in people management.
  • Proficiency in industrialization and engineering projects including building, process installation and utilities, from design stage to hand-over.
  • Knowledge of project management.
  • Knowledge of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g. SAP).
