Environmental Technician - Your future position? We are looking for a dedicated Environmental Technician to provide technical support in environmental management and compliance activities. You will contribute to the efficient operation of the wastewater treatment plant and contribute to our ongoing sustainability and environmental improvement plans.

You will report to the Head Of Safety & Environment Department.

 

In this exciting role, you will:

  • Provide technical assistance in managing the wastewater treatment plant, including monitoring discharged water from production processes and waste containers.

  • Support official inspections by environmental monitoring and control authorities.

  • Be an EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) technical representative within internal working groups related to environmental topics such as ISO 14000, Sustainability, and Green Team projects.

  • Prepare and submit regular environmental reports (internal, group-level, and official).

  • Develop product impact studies for manufactured ingredients.

  • Monitor compliance with the Integrated Environmental Authorization, including:

    • Atmospheric emissions

    • Environmental noise and odor management

    • Prevention of soil and groundwater pollution

    • Wastewater and waste control

  • Be available to perform on-call duties for the wastewater treatment plant, following applicable regulations.

  • Promote continuous improvement of environmental processes, including procedures, equipment, and organization. Focus on all environmental vectors, such as wastewater, waste, atmospheric emissions, noise, odors, and light pollution. Production, technical services, and cross-functional teams conduct this improvement effort in collaboration.

  • Maintain close daily contact with the Production and Engineering departments to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of the wastewater treatment plant.

  • Provide technical support in the startup, maintenance, and optimization of WWTP systems and equipment.

  • Verify compliance with internal standards on safety, occupational risk prevention, major accident prevention, and environmental protection.

  • Ensure adherence to company regulations, procedures, and instructions outlined in both the Quality Manual and the Environmental Management System within your responsibilities.

 

Your professional profile includes:

  • Academic background in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 2+ years of experience in wastewater treatment and environmental management systems.

  • Experience with environmental legislation and compliance requirements.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with good communication and problem-solving skills.
