Flavours Application Technologist

As Flavours Application Technologist you will participate in flavour application and provide technical expertise to drive operational excellence and establish successful cooperation with customers, according to business goals and EH&S policies. You will be based in Sant Celoni and will report to the Technical Manager Iberia.


You will:

  • Execute daily brief-related tasks including flavour selection, product evaluation, and application development
  • Lead evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations
  • Select optimal flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e. customer, regulatory, legislation, cost) and suggest improvements for the most common applications
  • Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in specific applications
  • Act as technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for specific applications
  • Coach, train, and motivate technicians and technologists
  • Maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines


You?

  • Polytechnic/Bachelor's Degree/Master's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry or Biology
  • 3 or more years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area (sweet goods or dairy segment preferred)
  • Fluent English and Spanish
  • Understanding of selected food applications, ingredients, and processes with practical experience in customers' food manufacturing environment
  • Basic understanding of many of the flavour reactions/interactions in common food products
  • Project management skills
  • Basic technical problem solving skills in a specific applications area
  • Ability to translate market trends into innovative products for selected customers
