Site Engineering Manager

Lead the Engineering and Maintenance function in a site with the complex industrial process with the objective to achieve maximum plant availability in response to operational activity needs for the local unit.

 

Strategy design

  • Provide input to the local Operations business plan and related goals with regards to e.g. engineering projects, production capacity, important maintenance activities, changes in equipment, spare parts inventory, etc.
  • Establish Site Engineering annual targets based on functional strategy and leads and monitors their achievement.

 

Function management

  • Lead several Maintenance & Engineering teams, and contractors, working on different assignments within the engineering and maintenance field.
  • Work with Engineering functions to ensure analysis and implementation  of global strategies, plans or best practices.
  • Establish site master plans to capture all Capex, engineering and maintenance plans and lead their execution to address internal customer requirements in the short, mid and long term.
  • Provide input to global or regional Capex projects to anticipate the impact on local activities and resources.
  • Identify and propose local Capex projects (when approved).
  • Manage all routine engineering and maintenance activities, track progress against the plan(s) and implement corrective actions in case of deviation.
  • Apply best practices and continuous improvement programs to increase processes and use of resources.
  • Provide outstanding engineering and maintenance service to clients through maintenance work, local projects and coordinate capital investments on site.
  • Maintain compliance of all assets with applicable legal or company standards, and harmonization of standards within the departments.
  • Implement Group Engineering projects, guidelines and directives and organize regular training to ensure adherence to these and other guidelines/directives 
  • Maintain contact with local authorities.
  • Propose budgets and levels of service for engineering and maintenance activities and build these within the approved limit(s).

 

People management

  • Oversee the development of annual human resources processes for the local Engineering & Maintenance teams and validate related results.
  • Work with local Operations and regional/global E&M management teams and HR Business Partner(s) in developing a local talent pipeline for the function.
  • Guide the development and promotion of talents within and outside the function.

 

Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Plant Engineering or Maintenance certification.
  • Overall work experience of 7+ years in manufacturing or plant operations, including exposure to factory engineering and maintenance strategy and operational maintenance of production equipment.
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in people management.
  • Spanish Language at an advanced level 
  • Experience working in matrix organizations incl CoEs.
  • Proficiency in complex industrialization and engineering projects including building, process installation and utilities, from the design stage to hand-over.
  • Good knowledge of TPM, KPI, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and project controlling tools.
