Every day, millions of people around the world savour the mouth-watering taste sensations created by our flavourists – and now it's your time to create those joyful moments. Based in Shanghai, you'll join a group of innovators with a deep passion for exploration. You'll report into our Senior Flavourist. You will formulate new flavour creations or modify existing flavours to meet customer requirements, internal testing needs, or new technology development for selected flavour types.

Your role will include:

• Prepare flavour samples as requested for customer briefs, applications needs, technology performance assessment, QC standards, physical testing
• Help evaluate materials developed internally or from external sources and assess potential for flavour creation
• Participate and learn about all departments directly related to completing customer briefs (analytical chemistry, sensory, consumer understanding, regulatory, flavour delivery, manufacturing)
• Complete daily brief-related tasks and manage assigned projects and provide flavours which meet all defined customer needs and which meet good manufacturing practices, sample scale-up, production requirements, regulatory compliance and leading customer visits for flavor creation and product presentations at the customer
• Be the technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, and customers for ingredient and flavour performance for selected flavour types
• Maintain relationships with a limited number of customers; able to gain their trust and respect
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment observing EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines
• To resolve flavour production issues and customer complaints and complete ownership of created flavours

Your professional profile includes:

• University degree in food science, chemistry or biology
• 3 years' working as a Savoury Flavourist
• Givaudan Flavourist Training qualification or industry equivalent
• Demonstrate expert level tasting skills with a basic level ability to understand how to adjust a flavour formulation in the direction needed for flavour modifications
• Basic knowledge of raw materials and flavour ingredients with a basic ability to create selected flavour types to deliver flavour performance for customer briefs, processes, research and development needs
• Demonstrated experience working with customers
