China & Korea Technology Head – Your next position?
As the China & Korea Technology Head in our Fragrance & Beauty Division, you will be based in Shanghgai and report to Head of Global Fragrance Technology, Fragrance & Beauty. You'll lead the China and Korea Fragrance Technology team, applying and tailoring global and regional strategy to local needs for efficient Technical, Analytical and/or Sensory support and driving innovation deployment to deliver competitive advantage in alignment with overall business goals.
In this position you will:
- EHS / Compliance: Promote and embed EHS guidelines / best practices. Adheres to and establishes high ethical values and beliefs.
- Strategy: Define / adjust the short/mid-term Regional Technology team strategy based on the Sub-Regional business needs and the Global Technology team strategy
- Functional Leadership & Cross-functional Interface: Lead the China and Korea Fragrance Technology team interface with the other functions and the Givaudan customers. Collaborate and coordinate activities with the other sub- regions (SEAO and Japan) or regions as needed. Represent the Regional Technology team in discussions with China and Korea Leaders.
- Resource & Capability Planning: Anticipate future resource and capability needs for the China and Korea Technology team to support the business ambitions. Define and execute organizational changes in team as required, in cooperation with senior management. Ensure appropriate resource allocation.
- Financial / Expense Management: Accountable for OPEX / CAPEX management allocated to the Regional Technology team.
- Technical / Analytical / Sensory Support: Ensure an efficient Technical and/or Analytical and/or Sensory support to the Development / Commercial (CP & FF) and S&T Communities (Including regional CI information gathering/sharing).
- Project Management & External Collaboration: Lead and collaborate on cross- functional, cross-regional projects, including with external 3rd parties [partners, suppliers, customers].
- Internal Technology Deployment: Communicate new Technology launches in the region and ensure their internal deployment.
- Innovation & IP: Drive and deliver a continuous stream of innovations through the Agile Innovation Program and leverage IP opportunities.
- Scientific Expertise: Scientific Expert Support, Serve as a scientific and technical expert for Greater China.
- Olfactory Expertise: Developed sense of smelling via years of industry experience (fragrance intensity, malodour intensity, generic olfactive camps) and active participation in technical olfactory sensory assessments
- Talent Management & Development: Build and manage efficiently a performing team of knowledgeable, passionate scientists. Identify, mentor, support, coach and develop team members with respect to functional competencies within own or related department. Accountable and responsible for execution of the Engage process within the area of responsibility (incl. target setting, reviews, performance evaluations, succession planning and talent evaluations). Propose training and development plans for key technical competencies within relevant areas.
- Culture, Communication & Collaboration: Foster a culture of communication / information sharing / collaboration across local, regional, and global internal functions.

Your professional profile includes:
- Bachelor and above degrees in relevant scientific discipline.
- Minimum 12 years of experience of fragrance / FMCG industries.
- Experience working in an international environment, across geographies and cultures.
- Good knowledge of the Chinese and Korean markets.
- People and project management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the fragrance and/or FMCG industry and how science and technologies can impact it.
- IP Literacy.
- Excellent organizational, managerial and communication skills. Fluent in English.
- Strategic mind-set.
- Good business acumen and tolerance for ambiguity.
- Proven track record of building strong teams and developing strong talents.
- Ability to influence within own function and with key stakeholders.
- Genuine and relentless customer focus.
