Raw Materials Category Manager at Givaudan – Your future position?

As Raw Materials Category Manager, you will be based in Shanghai and report to the Senior Global Category Manager. You will develop and implement strategies (and related tactical plans) to source critical/complex RM categories and secure supply for those categories following business plan under guidance but with autonomy

Sourcing Strategy

  • Manage the category according to the 2025 procurement strategy
  • Improve the implementation of RM category strategies
  • Analyze market and implement risk management strategies for the portfolio
  • Lead sourcing strategy development within team for main categories
  • Bring sourcing strategy implementation by leading major RFQs and main negotiations

Portfolio Management

  • Negotiate contracts globally
  • Select, manage and audit suppliers
  • Identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and involve creation and manufacturing in development of optimization plans
  • Manage main supplier relationship, and lead our escalated supplier conflict resolutions
  • Communicate with suppliers any forthcoming changes in demand/specifications
  • Ensure contract cover for materials and supplier compliance to contracts
  • Ensure vendor performance at target levels

Stakeholder Relationship

  • Communicate with key internal stakeholders/Segment BP any market conditions changes which may affect the Business
  • Support the responsible sourcing projects implementation & provide information to Procurement Sustainability Manager when needed

Cost Optimization

  • Provide information for business planning process
  • Develop cost reduction projects
  • Provide price forecast and market trends for main commodities

Your professional profile includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or organic chemistry
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in Procurement or functional experience
  • Knowledge of F&F/FMCG/Chemical industry
  • Specific technical and market knowledge in the respective category
  • International exposure in previous role
  • Fluent in English
  • Cultural awareness to fast changing requirements
