Senior Application Technologist -  Your Future Position?

 

As a Senior Application Technologist in our Taste & Wellbeing Division, you will report to Application Head directly and participate in flavour application and provide technical expertise to drive operational excellence and improve client delivery systems, according to business goals and EH&S policies. In this exciting role you will:

  • Execute daily brief-related tasks including flavour selection, product evaluation, and application development
  • Lead evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations
  • Select optimal flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e. customer, regulatory, legislation, cost) and suggest improvements for the most common applications
  • Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in specific applications
  • Serve as technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for specific applications
  • Coach, train, and motivate technicians and technologists
  • Actively maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines

Your professional profile includes:

  • University Degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology
  • 2 - 6 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area
  • Understanding of selected food applications, ingredients, and processes with practical experience in customers’ food manufacturing environment
  • Basic understanding of many of the flavour reactions/interactions in common food products
  • Project management skills and the ability to successfully lead selected customer projects
  • Ability to effectively participate on customer projects including customer visits
  • Basic technical problem solving skills in a specific applications area
  • Ability to translate market trends into innovative products for selected customers
  • Ability to instruct technicians and technologists
  • Capability of tea, and/or coffee, and/or juice conc. Syrup/syrup is a value-added
