(Senior) Marketing Manager -  Your Future Position?

 

Greater China is crucial to the future growth of Givaudan’s business; an opportunity has opened for a (Senior) Marketing Manager for Savoury & Snacks category role at Givaudan China. The person will report to the Marketing Director –Greater China and Korea and will lead our marketing innovation efforts in China to drive Savoury & Snacks category growth. 

 

This person will be responsible for defining, leading and driving the China Savoury & Snacks Marketing Strategy and Marketing initiatives to grow and differentiate Givaudan with custom-ers through engagement with sales and technical teams at Country level, and with Innovation teams at Regional level.

Key Deliverables
Identifies and translates customer and market needs into strategic Savoury & Snacks mar-keting initiatives to drive sustainable and profitable growth; partners with Innovation & Technical teams to deliver relevant products, marketing materials and innovation; and part-ner with sales to commercialize with customers.

  • Lead the development of the category growth strategy: Drive the development of China Savoury & Snacks strategy. Identify and propose business development op-portunities and provide thought leadership and strategic thinking to support the deliv-ery of strategic Savoury & Snacks big bets. Partner with sales, technical teams and re-gional innovation team, to analyze business performance, identify issues and define innovation agenda and plans to fill specific needs for the category. Work with Business Development to formulate strategy for new relevant Savoury & Snacks sub-categories & Integrated Solutions. Experience in working on convenient eating segment or plant based foods is a plus. 
  • Category Expertise: Expert of the category with in depth understanding and knowledge of the market, industry dynamics, competitive positioning and consumer understanding, effectively manage both short term innovation and long term strategic actions for the category, identify and capture the new opportunities and build pipeline, by leveraging company resources (local/regional/global, cross functional resources). Build good col-laboration with regional team to support China relevant projects for the category.
  • Direct and execute marketing efforts to target customers: Develop marketing in-novation plans and implementation in targeted quality and timely. Ensure that strategy is “translated” into marketable actions and that targets set are achieved. Own the re-gional innovation commercialization plans for China. Understand customers’ brands and formulate brand relevant concepts and translate consumer & sensory insights into cus-tomers’ business for sustainable growth. Focus is required to provide agile support on customer’s reactive projects. Experience in digital marketing campaigns is a plus. 
  • Leadership: Effective Savoury & Snacks category leader at driving change and per-formance for the category with cross-functional touchpoints.

Your professional profile includes:

  • BS in Food technology, Chemistry and/or Marketing, MBA or formal business train-ing/certification is of an advantage 
  • Preferably 15 years (minimum of 10 years’) experience, with previous experience in ei-ther marketing or sales in B2B food ingredient/additive companies or FMCG
  • Natural Influencing skills 
  • Strong capacity to manage projects in a matrix organization. Strong skill to process a broad range of external / internal sources of information/trends/consumer insights and to convert into develop direction for the sales organization
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Tactically oriented, and able to balance multiple priorities
  • Decisive and good team player
  • Customer Driven
