The Sr. Project Manager will lead complex large individual projects (up to CHF 30 Mio) or drive portfolio of projects as assigned by the Regional BP and CapEx/PM Lead in the region, often requiring considerable resources and high levels of functional integration.. He/She will facilitate site master plan (SMP) studies. He/She will drive and apply Project Gate Process (PGP) methodology in the region. He/She will apply and drive the CapEx related tools/systems (PPM, SAP/PS) in the region. He/She will formally report to Regional ENG BP with dotted line to CapEx/PM lead, but will report to the Steering Committee for the duration of the assigned projects and/ or studies.
Main responsibilities:
People management:
•Assemble and manage the project team (internal, external resources)
•Animate and coordinate the performance of the project team members
•Monitor project team performance and complete performance reviews (also for future use)
•Coach, mentor and motivate project team and sites project managers/engineers
•Train others CAPEX project managers/engineers on CapEx/PM processes (PGP, SMP) and systems/tools (PPM/SAP)
Function management:
§Drive day to day execution of assigned strategic project (or phase) and manage project resources to drive a successful project delivery
§Prepare Project/Portfolio Plan and financial forecasts/estimates for all phases
§Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication to SteCo and relevant stakeholders with regular reporting on status, KPIs, project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues
§Manage Project and drive project portfolio according to the CapEx/PM processes
§Ensure adherence to Global, regional and local standards (EHS, Quality, IM&S, IM&T, ManEx/GPS, Innovation, Sustainability)
§Drive selection of engineering suppliers and vendors together with IM&S, assisting negotiation and dispute management as needed
§Facilitate and resolve conflicts among project team members and/or other stakeholders
§Provide consultation and participate Post Implementation Reviews
§Participate to the development of CapEx/PM best practices & standards when requested
Decision-making authority:
Initial signature on Contracts with external engineering suppliers
Authorization of scope changes to Steering Committee
Education / Primary Qualification:
•Diploma: BSc/MSc in Engineering or equivalent experience, Project Management certification (PMI, PRINCE2) an advantage
•Languages: Fluent in English. Language of location an advantage
•Professional experience:
-Proven experience in leading large green/brown field projects (8+ years) preferably in food/chemical
-Experience in coaching and mentoring
-Experience in complex/matrix organizations
-Experience in working with diverse cultures and multidiscipline specialists
-Experience in the FMCG industry a plus
-Experience in contracts management and supplier selection processes
