Regional Head of CSI –Flavours APAC, Your future position?


The Regional Head of CSI –Flavours APAC sets and manages the vision and purpose of the function regionally, develops and drives the implementation of the CSI strategy and priorities and builds an effective CSI team. The role is also responsible for promoting the voice of the consumer in the business, for overseeing CSI plans and output that contribute to growing the business in the region and for establishing CSI as a competitive advantage for Givaudan.

Lead the development, evolution, and implementation of the function’s vision and strategy in line with business needs and aspirations: Develop and implement operating strategy and associated ways of working that address the needs of the business and key stakeholders i.e. cross-functionally, regionally and locally. Effectively communicate and rally the key stakeholders around the CSI vision and service model. Work with the entire CSI team across different areas of expertise to have integrated strategies, service models and plans in place. Continuously look for ways to improve and increase the impact of CSI on the business and its ability to influence decisions based on data and insights. Regularly review the regional growth strategy to inform the CSI capability needs for the future. Oversee the adherence to key CSI capability best practices to maintain the integrity and reputation of Givaudan CSI expertise.


Lead and manage the learning agenda to inspire and inform business growth opportunities and drive win rates: Recommend and deliver a learning agenda that equip Technical teams to deliver better Flavour solutions and equip the commercial teams to build a partnership with Customers and increase their win-rates. Ensure that CSI resources are effectively leveraged against business priorities. Build an understanding of external customer needs to develop a relevant learning agenda that will contribute to developing customer intimacy. Develop a partly forward-looking learning agenda that will help inform and guide the business growth agenda beyond the reactive agenda.


Generate and disseminate Consumer Sensory Insights and Knowledge through the organization: Recommend and deliver knowledge management systems that facilitate and encourage the use of CSI data and learning throughout the organization. Develop and deliver CSI training programmes that foster CSI capabilities throughout the organization and help facilitate insight transfer into product development and marketing solutions. Monitor the use of Consumer Sensory Insights in the business and its ROI in collaboration with Technical and Marketing Teams. Recommend and help shape how Givaudan Consumer Sensory Insights are shared and leveraged with Customers so as to build intimacy and increase win-rates whilst protecting Givaudan and that of Customers’ intellectual property. Build and manage a network of external vendors to foster innovation and knowledge sharing.


Attract, develop and retain CSI Talent: Attract CSI talents in line with the vision and intended mission. Construct and implement compelling development plans that help drive performance, provide career growth opportunities and build bench strength. Provide challenging and stretching tasks and assignments to develop talents. Drive engagement and create a sense of belonging in the team. Continuously review medium to long-term business needs to evolve as relevant the CSI team organizational design, recruitment strategy, and talent pipeline.

Your professional profile includes:


  • Advanced university degree in Food Science, Consumer Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology or related area with minimum 15 years’ mixed client and service side experience in Insights with a strong emphasis of insight application to business in emerging markets in a people management role.
  • Exposure to food and beverage consumer packaged goods companies strongly preferred
  • Highly developed strategic thinking, commercial and marketing skills, and experience
  • Ability to contribute at a strategic level with the Point of View (POV) of the consumer and product expert
  • Proven track record in identifying research needs, developing and managing insight programs and utilizing insight information in a fast-moving environment & bringing complex multinational level projects to successful completion
  • A proven ability to bring the very best out of suppliers, both in terms of servicing and encouraging them to develop new techniques
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be impactful and assertive yet have a strong understanding of cultural diversity.

  • Ability to lead in a complex matrix environment
