APAC Regional Product Manager (Savoury & Snacks) in Singapore – Your future position?

As an APAC Regional Product Manager (Savoury & Snacks) with Givaudan, you will manage assigned products and technologies, develop strategies and give direction to all marketing efforts to ensure Givaudan's leading position within the relevant market, according to overall goals and marketing strategy.

 

In this exciting role reporting to the Innovation Director (Savoury, Snacks & Proteins), your main responsibilities will be to:

Product Portfolio Management

  • Manage assigned regional product and technology portfolio to ensure it is relevant, complete, competitive and profitable, and aligned with our strategy
  • Oversee the Definition, Development and Commercialization of any regionally-driven product development efforts
  • Work with the technical and marketing teams in the sub-regions, and with the Global Product Managers (GPM)
  • Become regional expert for assigned products and technologies.
  • Work with Portfolio Managers to leverage collections as an internal promotional tool for new products and technologies. Help keep flavour collections updated by identifying non-performing products and recommending actions and deletion

 
Define Product & Technology Needs

  • Define product and technology needs and gaps, quantify opportunities, and establish business justification for new regional projects. Validate that solutions provided meet defined regional needs
  • Identify gaps and work with sub regions to create and enhance compelling business cases to GPM on regional opportunities and needs (incl. sales/profit projections, regulatory requirements, product performance expectations). Be the core owner and APAC representative to GPM and the Science & Technology groups, ensuring projects for our region are brought to successful commercialization
  • Contribute to the global product strategy built by the Global Product Managers
  • Develop knowledge of competitor products, communicate changes and recommend corrective responses

 
Drive Commercialization Of Products and Technologies

  • Drive the commercialization of products and technologies in the region
    • Internally – Ensure the regional technical group is prepared to support the external launch of new products and technologies
    • Externally with our customers - Ensure success at sub-regional level with a strong commercial mindset (e.g., jointly develop promotional plan, arrange sales and technical force training, support sales in customer visits, resolve issues affecting commercial plan)
  • Work with the Category and Marketing managers to develop value propositions, connect the dots between our scientific tools and technology capabilities, and our consumer and category insights
  • Equip market technical team with the capabilities to win with new products and technologies
  • Help achieve Sales and Gross Margin targets, working with Commercial Heads, and with the pricing team to determine price levels
  • Ensure that new ingredients and regional versions of flavours are provided to all Flavour Innovation Centres with all appropriate information related to the new products such as regulatory requirement, pricing

Your professional profile includes:

  • Bachelor / Master in a technical field such as Food Science, Biology, Chemistry
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a Technical / Innovation / R&D environment - or - B2B Marketing background within the food or flavour industry
  • Strong track record in interacting, influencing and collaborating with both commercial and technical team
  • Ability to articulate clear and simple messages from complex sources and data
  • Strong project management skills
