Continuous Improvement Specialist/Sr Specialist - Your future position?
As Continuous Improvement (Senior) Specialist, you will lead the execution of Continuous Improvement initiatives within a site/function in order to embed best practices, reinforce a continuous improvement mind-set and streamline non-value added activities.
In this exciting role, you will be reporting to the Continuous Improvement Program Manager and hold the below responsibilities:
Business Alignment
- Contribute to the design of Site/Business Unit strategies and deployment plans
- Proactively identify and quantify improvement opportunities; develop action plans accordingly
People Engagement
- Support in deploying CI Awareness workshops to all teams (e.g. CI basics training)
- Enable everyone to actively share Good Practices (e.g. through active communication, newsletter)
Capability Building
- Follow up of CI capability building governance at Team/shop floor level
- Develop people by delivering training, coaching and mentoring for basic CI Methodologies
- Training includes: CI Basics (5S, 8Wastes, Problem Solving), Yellow, Visual Performance Management, CI Maturity Assessment
Problem Solving
- Follow up of Problem Solving building governance at Team/shop floor level
- Coach project teams in applying effective problem solving (root cause analysis)
Performance Management
- Set up and support the effective implementation of daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly performance management reviews at shift, department and site level including the definition of lagging and leading indicators
Continuous Improvement Maturity Assessment (CIMA)
- Continuous Improvement Maturity Assessment (CIMA):
- Support the CI Manager / Lead / Site or Business Unit to prepare the CIMA Assessment and follow up with the teams based on CIMA outcome
- Process Efficiency
- Train, coach and inspire teams in applying relevant CI tools and methodologies for improving Processes and Asset Efficiencies
Work Standard
- Support process owners on development and maintenance of CI related work standards
- Enable teams to apply and comply with work standards (e.g. SOPs, OPLs)
Business Impact
- Lead or support specific business improvement projects
- Coach project teams on applying Lean and Six Sigma tools during project execution phases
- Drive implementation progress of assigned CI projects/programs, monitoring resource plans, project team accountabilities, change requests, deadlines, milestones, change management roadmaps, communications etc and manage periodic updates
- Responsible for reporting the financial and non-financial benefits for assigned improvement projects
Academic Background:
- At least Bachelor's degree of any field of study
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent required; Black Belt certification or equivalent is an advantage
Professional Experience:
- Overall work experience of 2 to 4 years in continuous improvement.
- Proven results on leading improvement projects, training and coaching;
- Training experience with operators, shift leaders and departmental managers.
- Exposure to cross-functional teams and projects
Technical Skills:
- Good knowledge of product processing and industrialization processes.
- Master Lean / Six Sigma tools & methodologies.
- Good command in stakeholder management and communications.
- Good command in process mapping and design.
- Good knowledge of value chain diagnostics tools.
- Good knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines.
- General knowledge of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g. SAP).
- Proficient in basic software tools with ability to learn/master new applications.
