Category Marketing Manager– Your Future Position?

As Category Marketing Manager in our Singapore Fragrances team, you would collaborate with the Sales, Insights and Fragrance Evaluation functions to produce imaginative, expert solutions to client briefs and proactively work to identify trends; translating these trends into strategic opportunities for Givaudan and our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering market data and consumer knowledge and translating into a meaningful narrative demonstrating the value of our fragrances to consumers. You will also lead marketing programs to develop our own internal expertise in response to customer needs.


If you are excited by fragrance and fascinated by the intricacies of translating technical understanding into creative, communicative stories, this could be the role for you. In this role, you will:

  • Build in-depth market and consumer understanding for assigned product categories
  • Conduct gap analyses to effectively identify and communicate opportunities for to build the business for a particular brand, client or category
  • Initiate and guide development of new creative marketing programs and new sensorial presentation techniques
  • Build compelling stories around our fragrances using your understanding of market trends and data and successfully deliver these presentations and experiences to clients
  • Collaborate closely with the fragrance development and consumer market insights teams to understand and develop strategies for future olfactive and conceptual directions
  • Work pro-actively to identify areas where we can be doing better and collaborate with both your own team and cross-functionally to implement improvements in these areas
  • Ensure shared learning across the business by initiating and maintaining constant communication of your marketing programs and key messages to all your colleagues and stakeholders
  • Guide and mentoring more junior members of your team.

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University Degree/Business/Marketing (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience, in marketing or related function preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate a knowledge and passion for fragrance products, trends and key customers both at a regional and global level
  • Strong ability to analyze consumer data and then use this to strengthen your consumer awareness and understanding
  • Expert understanding of B2B and B2C marketing principles
  • Ability, or strong interest in learning how to recognize olfactive notes, communicate in fragrance language and understand strategy built on olfactive data
