Production & Technical Supervisor - Your future position?

As Production & Technical Supervisor, you are responsibile to provide support and is deputy to Production Manager by supervising a team of Process Technicians for oversight, control, development of manufacturing pro-cesses, specifications and documentation required to produce intermediary or finished encapsulated fragrance products. 

In this exciting role, you will also be involved in the initiation and execution of engineering projects from operations perspective with respect to process design and production requirements. This includes but is not limited to design, improve, and validate processes, systems and hygiene/sanitation of equipment and technology transfer of product. Last but not least, you will also be the competency centre for production control system.
 

Main responsibilities:

Production Process Management 

  • Develop and implement relevant SOPs in production, to ensure compliance to the relevant quality system, certification bodies or corporate guidelines that include but not limited to ISO9001, GMP, Global Best Practices, EH&S Directives.
  • To lead and perform PFMEA for new and existing product introduced for mass production.
  • To study, analyse or develop production capabilities for new production localization.
  • To schedule and monitor encapsulated fragrance production activity, volume and quality of output and analyse production data to optimize processes in order to meet production schedules and targets.
  • Resolve problems related to manufacturing processes, in order to achieve Safety, Quality and productivity targets. 
  • Champion to ensure production shop floor is maintained in a neat, orderly and clean state and ensure that sanitation of both equipment/ facility is scheduled and carried out as required.
  • Manage cross functional members to achieve production targets. 
  • Production Process Improvement 
  • Coordinate the development, implementation and follow up of the improvement in methods/processes of production lines. 
  • Propose and lead through ideas for continuous improvement program in production plant to improve workflow efficiencies of process technicians. 
  • Work on site identified project charter from conceptualization till completion. 
  • Propose capacity improvement to fulfil demand evolution and prevent new asset investments 
  • Lead departmental daily/shift meetings with process technicians and resolve problems through aligned departmental KPI. 
  • Provide support of commissioning and qualification activities (Product Qualification, New equipment cleaning, Equipment Testing)
  • Establish and organize change management process in production.
  • Established process capability studies and monitoring to enable a stable process, production system and equipment
     

People Management 

  • Open to servant leadership style and manage / supervise staff to ensure that all production tasks are performed according to scheduled production timeline. 
  • Document performance outcome, provide first line coaching and feedback to process technicians. 
  • Work alongside production manager to address staffing and employee activities such as behaviour and job performance issues, recommending hiring, firing and annual salary increases related activities. 
  • Train new employees in the organization through operating procedures and standards. 
     

Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemical / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering / Chemistry / Science or related discipline. Diploma with considerable experiences in process industry such as Eg. Pharmaceutical, Speciality chemical will also be considered.
  • 3-5 years of management experience in Pharmaceutical, Speciality Chemical, Chemical manufacturing.
  • Able to incidental lift objects of 25 kg for material movement.
  • Willing to stand in place of process technicians manage process independently as and when required. 
  • Meticulous, able to work independently and a team player.
     

Competencies:

  • Requires strong technical background and working knowledge of techniques, such as FMEA, statistical process control, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma. 
  • Prior project planning experience and experience in handling medium complexity projects required, including ability to drive improvements and independently carry out all technical activities.
  • Good working knowledge on material purchase and production inventory management (eg. FIFO, Min/Max, Kanban) is a must.
  • Good working knowledge of safety governing systems (Incident reporting/investigation, Permit-To-Work, Lock-Out-Tag-Out) is a must.
  • Good working knowledge of GMP/cGMP manufacturing processes and GDP/cGDP is a must.
  • Good working knowledge of Chemical & Microbial knowledge is a must. 
  • Good working concepts and analytical methods of materials engineering, strongly preferred
  • Good working knowledge of Six Sigma / CI tools is a plus (DMAIC, SIPOC, Swim lane Diagram, Spaghetti Diagram, Value Stream Mapping) a plus.
  • Prior technology transfer knowledge is a plus. 
  • Able to consolidate neat & accurate manufacturing batch record for submission for quality review.
  • Understand bill of materials and/or formula specifications, and skilled in production material management (eg. Cycle count, write off) 
  • Experience in operating RF devices and well verse in production SAP transactions (PO release, consumption, costing, closure).
  • A high level of computer skills is required and familiarity of production systems, including SAP.
