Senior Toxicologist/Ecotoxicologist

Senior Toxicologist/Ecotoxicologist - Your Future Position?
As a Senior Toxicologist/Ecotoxicologist, you will provide scientific expertise to the regulatory function to ensure products follow regulatory requirements and company's safety guidelines. You will also help to support creation of product documentation to ensure new products are timely and efficiently registered with relevant authorities. This role can be based either in Singapore OR China (Shanghai) OR Europe (Argenteuil or Ashford) OR USA (Ridgedale). 
 
You will report to the Head of Product Safety Sciences and your main responsibility includes:
Regulatory Policy

  • Advise Givaudan management on latest issues relevant to regulatory policy and issues affecting potential regulatory compliance or product safety
  • Manage the interactions related to product safety and regulatory affairs between Global PSRA and other internal functions (i.e. Global S&T and GSBD, including the Global Applications Technology and Global Creation Technology groups)
  • Implement regulatory policies that ensure and compliant business practices
  • Provide scientific and regulatory support to Global Regulatory Affairs and Product Safety (RAPS)
  • Provide leadership for Givaudan's regulatory and scientific advocacy programs to support our plans
  • Represent Givaudan on Industry safety committees

 

Product Safety Assurance

  • Conduct safety assessments of Givaudan’s products, such as fragrances, cosmetics and delivery systems, including both existing products and technologies, and new substances developed by research and development before and during sensory evaluation
  • Identify and incorporate new eco toxicology technologies into safety review process
  • Interpret scientific and technical data affecting Givaudan's Global Regulatory Toxicology group
  • Product Documentation and Registration
  • Manage efforts in obtaining relevant eco toxicology or regulatory data needed to support the registrations application and being the liaison between assigned R&D project teams and Product safety
  • Ensure all of our products comply with customer safety guidelines, government regulations and trade association safety requirements

 

New Product Development

  • Provide oversight and approval for use of new materials in Flavour development by S&T, Global Applications development and Flavour Creation Technology
  • Interpret and assess impact of scientific information to support global R&D projects

 

Your professional profile includes:

  • Minimum Master's degree or Ph. D in scientific field (toxicology, eco toxicology, biochemistry, chemistry, einvironmental chemistry or related areas)
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant industry experience in product safety, risk assessment or relevant scientific area and regulatory affairs experience 
  • Experience in advanced technical contributions in the industry
  • Advanced knowledge of a specific regulatory, eco toxicology or toxicology discipline and ability to manage that discipline within a broader regulatory environment
  • Advanced knowledge of programmed systems and database management
  • Advanced knowledge of fragrance regulations, chemistry, biology, ecotoxicology, einvironmental chemistry or toxicology
  • Expert knowledge of safety assessment or ingredient registration processes
  • Proficient in translating Chinese documentation and to communicate with Chinese authorities
