Sweet Goods Application Intern

Location: 1 Woodlands Avenue 8

Reporting to: Senior Food Technologist, Bakery & Confectionery Goods

 

Core Responsibilities

Application Support

  • Application work would include bakery and confectionery applications and wrapping and packing of these products for delivery
  • Organising sensory evaluations
  • Documentation of experiments, such as taking picture of finished product and updating of data into tracker
  • Work closely with a dynamic team of flavorists, applicationists and sensory scientists, and in the process be exposed to various departments as well as develop an understanding of the flavour innovation process.

Lab Maintenance

  • Maintain inventory list of raw materials, colours and flavours
  • Ensure that items are replenished and within shelflife

 

At the end of the industrial attachment, interns will be able to:

  • Contribute to the planning of application projects and making experimental observations
  • Independently organise and execute application tasks.
  • Prepare flavoured food products and participate in evaluations of flavours in food applications for reactive and pro-active projects
  • Document experiments and research with reports
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues from different departments

 

Main Requirements

  • Chemistry or relevant background
  • No dietary restriction towards gelatin products (i.e. beef gelatin)
