Technology Manager SEA

Technology Manager SEA in Singapore – Your future position?

As a Technology Manager SEA with Givaudan, you will report to the Fragrance Regional Technology Head APAC. You will work with internal customers in fragrance development, perfumery and commercial organization and the technical and marketing functions of external customers. You will then develop, validate, communicate and put together technology solutions and propositions that can meet and exceed consumer unmet needs, and thereby customer expectations - in order to successfully drive Givaudan's fragrance technology adoption by FMCG customers into their marketplace products.


In this exciting role you will: 

  • Work with a number of internal functions (perfumery, development, sales, operations, market-ing, consumer research) to develop fragrance technology solutions for external customer needs
  • Work extensively with external FMCG customers (R&D, technical and marketing) across SE Asia - to drive technical marketing of technology solutions, handhold customer technical teams where needed to implement fragrance technology solutions
  • Independently plan, organise and execute complex technical projects for technology validation, customer marketing and trouble-shooting
  • Lead projects, track and regularly update the projects
  • Apply creative and innovative thinking skills to solve problems
  • Develop in-depth subject matter excellence in his/her field, and utilize to implement scientific and technological improvements
  • Serve as a technical expert in own area 
  • May manage, develop and coach technical employees with respect to functional competen-cies to build an efficiently operating group
  • Perform day-to-day management of technical equipment
  • Develop and foster a culture of excellent communication, information sharing, collaboration and relationships within group and with related internal customers

Your professional profile includes:

  • A Bachelor and 15-20 years job training or Masters and 10-15 years training or PhD and 8-15 years of  experience on the job (or equivalent combination of education and experience) - highly desirable is degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • 10+ years of FMCG R&D experience highly desirable
  • 5+ experience Fragrance Technology development and deployment in Fragrance House highly desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in fabric care category R&D / fragrance encapsulation desirable
  • 5+ years experience in external customer interface, managing relationship with technical func-tions of customers and successfully delivering and implementing technical solutions
  • Good demonstrated technical trouble-shooting experience
  • Knowledge of overall fragrance science and technology
  • Extensive technical skills in area of specialty; Is viewed as an expert in field of specialty and related science
  • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions; demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Interact well with research and other regional technology groups 
  • Possess very strong presentation skills to showcase technology solutions internally to non-technical functions and to external FMCG customers
  • Strong inter-personal skills and proven ability to work effectively and seamlessly with non-technical functions like marketing, development, commercial is important
