Training Specialist


On this role you will plan, develop, implement and conduct various standard and specialized training programs to ensure employee understanding of current, modified or future operational methods and standard practices. Ensure training programs satisfy strategic training goals and objectives in order to maximize utilization of work force and equipment and meet all regulatory compliance issues.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule training, working with all departments to coordinate organized programs. Tracks and ensures participation.
  • Train employees on SOPs, including cross-training, new procedures, and all other training needs (hands-on).
  • Design and develops all related training materials to incorporate safety, SOPs, and ISO for course presentations.
  • Oversee or conducts general and specialized training workshops as needed and ensures proper implementation.
  • Consult with site leadership to identify training requirements.  Oversees training programs, manuals and methods of implementation to meet identified requirements using internal or external resources.
  • Conduct training sessions where qualified or enlists specialists for courses of special or advanced material.
  • Maintain required training documentation and records.  Prepares management updates and reports as requested.  Maintains high level of technical competence through keeping abreast of updates in regulations and technology.
  • Support employees through virtual trainings in SAP and other learning management systems.
  • Develop and administer the new hire training program, in conjunction with site leadership, Safety, Quality, and Human Resources. Tracks and documents employee progress, and drives the program to completion.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to employees. Shares employee progress and recommendations for next steps with leadership.
  • Lead train-the-trainer initiatives at the site.
  • Act as a resource to support site leadership with the development of presentations and trainings that are department specific.
  • Independently and proactively assesses current processes and operations for gaps and recommends improvements.

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with a comfort level presenting and training employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of management techniques, system analysis and processes is preferred.
  • Knowledge of systems/programs similar to Naturex’s Quality, EHS, and Food Safety programs. 
  • Familiar with SAP (or similar programs), ERP systems, and learning management systems, such as Alchemy.

 

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA degree or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • 3+  years of experience in training, teaching, or process development.
  • Background in a manufacturing or engineering-type environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma/Green Belt certification a plus.
  • PDCA certification a plus.
  • Able to lift up to 55 pounds unassisted
