Purpose

Have overall responsibility for providing Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality and Facilities oversight for the Fragrances division at local level to deliver products to customers on time, applying defined product quality requirements while optimizing production costs. In this position, you will report to the Director of Operations for Mexico.

The plant is located in San Martín Texmelucan.

 

Core Responsibilities

Strategy design and execution

  • Participate in the design of the regional Operations strategy and definition of related objectives based on input provided by other functions locally, e.g. Commercial, Regulatory.
  • Based on regional strategy, oversee the design and execution of tactical and operational plans locally to meet functional objectives.
  • Provide direction across all Operations sub-functions locally to drive alignment and improve operational visibility.
  • Drive organizational synergy and process integration initiatives (Operations Excellence) at local/site level to reduce cycle times, increase organizational agility, improve on time delivery and quality of products and optimize cost savings opportunities.
  • Work across all functions locally to drive the deployment of a world class safety culture, strong productivity improvements and inventory reductions.
  • Execute the annual operating plan within approved budget.
  • Teamwork with other sites to exchange best practices and learning from experiences
  • Lead a team with an attitude of problem solving (immediate and durable)

 

People management

  • Oversee the execution of annual human resources processes for the function at local level and validates related results.
  • Work with the local Operations management team and HR department in developing a regional talent pipeline for the function.
  • Drive the development and promotion of local talents within and outside the function at local level.

 

Academic Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, other technical degrees might be considered if coupled with operational experience in similar positions specially in the chemical industry
  • Knowledge in Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, E&M valued.
  • Languages: Spanish & English fluent (French valued)

 

Professional Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in Operational Areas in Consumer products Industries (F&F related preferred) with background in supply chain, quality and/or materials management, including exposure to M&A projects, organizational change, operational restructuring, business process redesign, systems implementations, enterprise risk for local organizations.

 

Technical Skills

  • Manage a team to deliver Safety, Sustainability, Quality, Service & Cost parameters of the plant with focus in anticipation
  • Expertise in world class manufacturing concepts (LEAN).
  • Expertise in product industrialization.
  • Expertise in change management.
  • Strong understanding of business process/system redesign.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX).
  • Fluent English
