About the role
As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for all tax matters related to the entity and potential future acquired subsidiaries. In this position, you will be reporting to Japan Finance Manager and will be based in Osaki, Tokyo.

In this exciting role, you will:
Tax Accounting & Compliance
• Manage tax accounting & tax return preparation, filing and payments
• Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting to local authorities and Group Reporting
• Manage IFRS based and statutory tax provision and tax compliance process
• Forecast tax liabilities periodically
• Reconcile General Ledger tax balances
• Support for annual budget preparation and audit coordination (related to tax function)
• Coordinate tax audits and special tax-related projects
Transfer Pricing
• Implement Group Guidelines
• Monitor & Analyze monthly profitability of the various business segments
• Collaborate with team members to forecast year-end profitability by segment
• Make proactive recommendations to Management on transfer pricing strategy
Continuous Improvement
• Stay up-to-date with tax legislation
• Maintain effective control & review procedures over all aspects of the tax processes
• Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures
Ad-hoc:
• Insurance accounting both as per Group and JGAAP requirements
• On a need basis, coordinate legal matters between the business and external company lawyers / Givaudan Regional Legal Counsel
• Ad-hoc Accounting & Project support
Your profile includes:
• Education: University degree with a major in Tax/Accounting; CPA qualification is nice to have;
• Languages: fluent in English and Japanese.
• Experience: strong experience in corporate tax accounting and tax compliance. Familiar with both JGAAP and IFRS accounting practices.
• Other requirements: Familiarity with SAP preferred, Big 4 experience, and international working experience are advantages.
• Possess a CI mindset and able to support projects related to improvements.
• Flexible and able to proactively challenge or question the status quo processes for areas of improvement.
