Continuous Improvement Manager

Your next role ?

As a Continuous Improvement Manager assigned to Ingredients manufacturing, you will apply and spread continuous improvement knowledge in Givaudan, and supporting Continuous Improvement capability building through training. You will lead the implementation of continuous improvement plans within a site to embed best practices, promote a continuous improvement mindset and improve non-value added activities. You will be based in Vernier and will report to the site Continuous Improvement Lead.

In this exciting role you will :

Business Agreement :

  • Help design of the Site/Department strategies while ensuring the agreement from Global, Regional, and Functional into Site strategy. This includes identification, prioritization of improvement plans and resource allocation and execution timeline ;
  • Elaborate the continuous improvement roadmap and build related tactical and operational plans to meet local goals ;
  • Setup strategy deployment governance at sites and department level to ensure execution.

People Engagement :

  • Establish a positive first contact with all primary partners, and deploy CI Awareness workshops to all teams (e.g. CI basics training) ;
  • Integrate and encourage best practices in teamwork that complement our core CI methods ;
  • Allow everyone in Givaudan to connect with CI and to share Good Practices (e.g. through internal newsletter) ;
  • Introduce and coach VPMS- Visual Performance Management system, as a universal practice for everyone in the organization to manage daily performance.

Capability Building :

  • Based on Employee's learning needs provide CI training inputs to field HR ;
  • Develop people by delivering training for all CI Methodologies ;
  • Training includes: CI Basics(5S, 8Wastes, Resolve issues), Yellow, Green, Black Belts, CI Leadership training, Specific training on, Lean Tools, Visual Performance Management, Strategy Deployment, CI Maturity Assessment ;
  • Mentor Belts, and manage the certification and recognition events.

Solve issues :

  • Coach project teams in applying solving issues (root cause analysis) to develop solutions and initiate change ;
  • Support team to identify problems that must be solved using right CI Methodology and Tools ;
  • Setup a tollgate review governance for all Site improvement projects.

Performance Management :

  • Set up and help implement of daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly performance management reviews at shift, departament and site level including the definition of lagging and leading indicators.

Continuous Improvement Maturity Assessment (CIMA) :

  • Train/Assess the Site in the CIMA Excellence journey ;
  • Help site team to achieve its roadmap and results through site CIMA implementation.

Process Efficiency :

  • Train, coach and inspire teams in applying relevant CI tools and methodologies for improving Site Processes and Asset Efficiencies ;
  • Partner with the Local process owners and Regional/Global process experts to apply solutions and good practices at site level.

Work Standards :

  • Support process owners on development of work standards ;
  • Allow teams to apply and comply with work standards (e.g. SOPs, OPLs) ;
  • Promote good practice sharing across the sites and within the region.

Business Impact :

  • Lead specific business improvement projects for the site ;
  • Manage the pipeline of improvement projects to provide impact and track strategic progress at site/department level ;
  • Promote implementation progress of approved CI projects, monitoring resource plans, project team accountabilities, change requests, deadlines, milestones and manage periodic updates to project partners ;
  • Report the financial and non-financial benefits at site level.

Your Profile :

  • University degree in Chemical engineering ;
  • Lean Green Belt certification required, Black Belt is an advantage ;
  • Overall work experience of 4 or more years including of which 2 or more years in a Lean Six Sigma implementation role ;
  • Experience in people management is an advantage ;
  • Demonstrated results on leading improvement projects, training, assessing ;
  • Knowledge of product processing and industrialization processes ;
  • Good skills in project management using TPM, Lean, Strategy Deployment/x-matrix ;
  • Good skills in partner management and communication ;
  • Good skills in process mapping and design ;
  • Knowledge of value chain diagnostics tools ;
  • Willing to challenge status quo and look for more engaging ways to meet main process/goals ;
  • Knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines ;
  • Knowledge of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g. SAP).
