Ingredients Production Manager m/w/d– Your next role?

As an Ingredients Production Manager based in Vernier, you will be responsible for a chemical manufacturing unit of intermediate or finished ingredient fragrances products, following high internal standards. Reporting directly to the Head of Ingredients Production, you will manage the Ingredients Production unit team and will drive improvements towards higher performance.

In this exciting role you will : 

Production management: you will organize and supervise the production program to ensure an efficient manufacturing process for each product, following deadlines and high safety, quality and service standards. Your role will also be essential to monitor costs and ensure compliance with the budget, as well analyze the productivity and yield of the product portfolio you are responsible for, and adjust production recipes and master data.  You will ensure standard operation procedures are updated, you will evaluate product and process related issues concerning raw material, process chemistry and equipment troubleshooting and validation, and finally you will review process safety risk analysis on the different materials you are responsible for.

Continuous Improvement: You will contribute to development initiatives such as those required to improve process understanding, process control and process capability. You will also be in charge of implementing improvement plans to maintain cost competitiveness. You will propose necessary capacity improvements and investments to fulfill demand evolution. Finally, you will recommend and elaborate improvements in analytical equipment, procedures and techniques.

Project management: You will manage project progress including monitoring timelines, raw materials, equipment availability and yields.

People Management: You will lead a team of 20 – 40 employees. You will support employee involvement in safety, analytical problem solving and lean initiatives. You will ensure full compliance with Givaudan EHS principles, quality and legal requirements and be a safety leader in your daily work. Finally, you foster a teamwork atmosphere and will guide the development of identified talents.

Your success profile includes : 

• PhD in Organic Chemistry or Chemical Engineering;
• 4 to 7 years of experience in chemical production / pharmaceuticals industry or  manufacturing operations;
• Experience with people management preferred;
• Understanding of Organic Chemistry and Industrial process;
• Flexible to join a pool of production chemist supporting production during night shift when needed;
• Leadership, able to manage multiple activities in parallel and to work in a cross-functional environment;
• Track record in project management;
• Good understanding of Continuous Improvement concepts;
• Fluent in English and French, Spanish and German a plus.
