As a Project Manager - Engineering & Maintenance m/w/d you will directly report to our Engineering Manager and you will join our Operations team in Vernier.

You will be in charge of the implementation of many-sided projects on site from justification and technical design to successful implementation and commissioning.

 

In this exciting role you will :

  • Manage requests for the study and implementation of projects at Vernier site in the following areas:
    • ingredients production
    • compound production
    • logistics
    • utilities production and distribution
    • waste water treatment plant
    • laboratory facilities
    • build technology
    • buildings and open spaces (roads, effluent networks, green spaces, etc.)
  • Project management:
    • Manage CAPEX projects
    • Lead project team and external resources
    • Develop project scopes, cost estimations, credit applications and specifications
    • Monitor compliance with design and construction parameters, respecting all norms and EHS regulations
    • Monitor project execution parameters, including timing, detailed cost estimate, list of deliverables and implement corrective actions whenever necessary
    • Co-lead tender process with suppliers, contractors and IM&S
    • Follow-up project Indicators and lead steering committees
    • Support project team in the project execution
    • Conduct hazard studies, risk assessments and process optimization
    • Support Execution supervisor for contractor management
    • Report project status and budgetary control for approved projects
    • Produce all required design documents (including specifications)
    • Accomplish project plans within approved budget and schedule
    • Follow Givaudan project management process (PGP)
    • Manage project reporting in PPM Tool (cost plan, milestones, status report…)
    • Participate in the training and seminars proposed
  • Engineering:
    • Profile GCC: Is responsible for all design aspects related to chemical engineering, fluid dynamics and mechanical processes.
    • All profiles monitor technology and propose solutions, standardize processes, equipment, engineering concepts and create norms.

 

Your success profile includes :

  • Project Management Certification IPMA (min C level), PMI or equivalent.
  • Profile GCC: Bachelor's degree in engineering HES (ETS) or EPF in chemical engineering, fluid dynamics and mechanics
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in factory engineering, including management of multiple process engineering projects involving resources from diverse disciplines.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and versatile specialists (internal and external).
  • Experience working in complex/matrix organizations.
  • Technical skills in:
    • chemical production and mixing facilities
    • utilities production and distribution facilities
    • installations related to logistics
    • build technical installations (HVAC, fire extinguishing and detection, standard and emergency lighting)
    • civil engineering and building trades
    • ATEX regulations
    • Project management, using TPM, Indicators, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing.
    • Knowledge of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g. SAP).
  • Languages:
    • French: fluent
    • English: fluent
    • German: good command a plus
  • Plan and align: manage complex projects.
  • Take responsibility and don't accept the status quo.
  • Customer-focused with a sense of production urgency.
  • Collaborate: autonomous and team spirited.
  • Manage complexity.
  • Challenge with a continuous improvement behavior, following the site's CI culture.
  • Work systematically with facts, to make the most rational decisions. Knowing how to take a step back, especially in an emergency context.
  • Cultivate improvement and standardize: systematically seek solutions that can be duplicated in other situations.
