Regional Category Manager

 

Regional IM&S Category Manager - Your Future Position?


This role can be based in the following locations:

Switzerland (Vernier or Zurich), Hungary (Budapest), The Netherlands (Naarden), France (Argenteuil) - Please indicate your location preference in your cover letter.


In this role reporting to the Global Category Manager Facilities, Maintenance & Utilities, you will be responsible for developing and implementing regional strategies and related tactical plans to source the IM&S (Indirect Materials and Services) categories and secure supply for those categories. Together with your key stakeholders you will ensure proper planning and execution of the regional IM&S strategies. Furthermore you will closely collaborate with our Givaudan Business Solutions (GBS) teams as well as with local IM&S buyers.


In this exciting role your main activities will be the following:

 

Sourcing Strategy

 

  • Drive the development and implementation of regional category strategies within the framework of the global procurement and category strategy ;
  • Analyze market and implement risk management strategies for the portfolio ;
  • Lead regional sourcing strategy development within cross functional teams ;
  • Drive regional sourcing strategy implementation by leading major RFQs and key negotiations.


Portfolio Management

 

  • Negotiate contracts regionally and locally ;
  • Select, manage and audit suppliers ;
  • Identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and actively involve and engage stakeholders in development of optimization plans ;
  • Link with Site Buyers and Regional IM&S Managers and sourcing centers to identify alternative suppliers in other geographies, deploy global strategies, contracts and framework agreements, collect supplier performance feedback ;
  • Identify potential demand and specification changes and communicate them to suppliers ;
  • Own regional key supplier relationship, and lead GBS escalated supplier conflict resolutions ;
  • Ensure vendor performance at target levels.


Stakeholder Relationship

 

  • Communicate to key internal stakeholders/Global Category Managers any market conditions changes which may affect the Business ;
  • Actively support the responsible sourcing projects implementation & provide information to Procurement Sustainability Manager when needed ;
  • Identify potential demand and specification changes and communicate; influence business stakeholders to drive cost improvements.


Cost Optimization and Business Planning
 

  • Prepare initiative plans and forecasts in line with business budget cycle ;
  • Develop cost reduction projects ;
  • Provide price forecast and market trends for key commodities and services.

Your success profile includes:

 

  • University degree preferred or equivalent experience ;
  • At least 7 years’ experience in Procurement and/or functional experience ;
  • International exposure in previous roles ;
  • Fluent in English, any other European language an asset
  • Proven excellent negotiation skills ;
  • Strong influencing skills ;
  • Strong collaborator, able to build network rapidly ;
  • Passion for success with high energy level ;
  • Willingness to travel (20%) within region (EMEA).
