Application Technologist - Vienna (Austria) - Your future position?
Overall mission:
Support customer projects, and research process by preparing and selecting flavours, offering guidelines related to flavour modifications and maintaining data relevant to flavour portfolio, according to EH&S policies and our needs.
You will be located in Vienna, reporting to the Application Manager Savoury and Snacks. You can join us with a 1-year long fix term contract.
You will:
Main Responsibilities Flavour Application

Prepare flavoured food products for customer projects, presentations and research projects

Select flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e., customer, regulatory, legislation, cost)

Participate in evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations

Help with tasting sessions and presentations to customers/visitors
Data Management
-
Manage flavour data and recipe documentation for food Products.

Maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles
Environmental Health & Safety

Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment following EH&S policies
You:
-
Polytechnic or B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology

Polytechnic or B.S.: minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area
-
Master’s Degree: minimum 0 - 1 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area

Understanding of most food ingredients when used in application
-
Understanding of multiple Givaudan food applications processes
-
Knowledge of most of our customers’ products and their production processes
-
Experience with financial aspects of flavour selection (cost-in-use, margins)
-
Tasting skills and ability to describe the flavour profile of the product and provide direction to flavourists for flavour Modifications
-
Experience with the most common flavour reactions/interactions in common food products

A basic understanding of project management
