Senior Technologist

About the role:


For our Flavours Creation and Application center in Vienna we are looking for a Savoury Technologist/ Development Chef. In this new role you will manage the customer briefs and you will bring the customer experience to the next level. Moreover you will strengthen the local savoury capabilities. You will directly report to the Applications Manager.

You Will:

Implement daily customer briefs: You will apply and evaluate Givaudan's product portfolio in savoury products for cus-tomer briefs; monitor performance and stability; select products for customer projects according to all relevant requirements (taste profile, legislation, technical suitability, costs); develop and standardize savoury applications and culinary gold standards during flavour development for customer briefs; translate market trends into innovative product concepts where culinary inspiration is needed.
Customer experience: You will manage technical customer communication to achieve a positive outcome of projects; organize workshops and innovation days at customers and at Givaudan; prepare and present to customers and our teams high-quality culinary dishes using our wide range of product offerings; work with our customers to improve their recipes.
Strategy: You will strengthen our local savoury application capabilities and serve as technical advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation and customers for savoury applications; act as "culinary sales" lead for strategic customers in Eastern Europe; promote food service initiative within the Eastern Europe region.

You Have:


  • Bachelor or masters degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology and 2+ years experi-ence in a savoury applications lab, production, or related area
  • Culinary Degree from an accredited University or an equivalent apprenticeship and 6 or more years of work experience in the flavour, retail or food service industries
  • Fluency in English 
  • Experience in industrial product development
  • Project management skills and experienced in leading customer projects
  • Expert in preparing and presenting advanced culinary trend presentations and savoury applications to customers
  • Experienced in translating savoury and culinary trends into new products for im-portant customers
  • Advanced knowledge of several local and regional cuisine's regarding ingredients and traditional aspects of the cooking style
  • Expert in formulating industrialised food products following current industry best practices
