Account Manager Active Beauty Japan -  Your Future Position?

 

As an Account Manager Active Beauty Japan in our Fragrance & Beauty Division, you will be based in Shin-Yokohama and report to the Regional Sales Manager.  You will drive Active Beauty business with designated accounts, building customer relationships, delivering on the customer sales and margin targets and establishing Active Beauty as the best partner in the industry.

 

In this exciting role you will:

  • Grow Active Beauty business in key customers in Japan – i.e. Shiseido, Kao, Kose, and targeted indie brands…etc., managing both sales and profitability
  • Develop direct relationships within the key customers to make Givaudan the partner of choice rather than relying solely on feedback through distributor. Gain understanding of brand strategies and business needs of key clients, to identify and create sales opportunities and deliver targeted solutions.
  • Give full support to distributor to accelerate the growth of business by leveraging their market reach and local expertise. Provide comprehensive training to ensure they understand the unique selling points. Share market insights to help them identify sales opportunities. Work closely to set mutually beneficial goals that align with both the distributor’s capabilities and our objectives.
  • Develop, communicate and implement strategies for key accounts including sales forecasts and budget for key accounts, against agreed KPIs; manage opportunity pipeline (quality and quantity of projects) to achieve growth plans. Provide regular reviews and delivers status reports on project progress and commercialisation of projects.
  • Work closely with other teams in marketing, sales, quality, regulatory affairs and research to share opportunities and answer the customer needs in an effective an efficient way.  Develop and deliver customer presentations.
  • Manage any customer issues/complaints to ensure a smooth resolution
  • Monitor customer and competitor activity in target markets and share with global marketing and R&D teams.

Your professional profile includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree, scientific majors: especially life science related majors preferred but not mandatory
  • 10+ years of account management experience in cosmetic ingredients in Japan – especially cosmetic active ingredients preferred
  • Technical understanding and the ability to translate technical concepts into compelling stories – especially understanding of skin biology preferred
  • Business acumen – figure out sequences in work process and customer decision making process (problem-solving skills)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – ability to convey information in an engaging way
  • Presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Project Management skills
  • Fluency in English and local language.
