Want to empower a global business with fragrance and beauty solutions that will imprint the memories of billions? As our Technology Manager, you will. From your base in Japan, you’ll represent the Science and Technology function with internal customers to identify and develop fragrance technology solutions. Working closely with them to explore untapped opportunities, you’ll promote and inspire our growth and strengthen our reputation as their strategic partner in all things fragrance and beauty.

Your role will include: 

• Represent the Science & Technology function with internal customers (e.g. Perfumery, Development, Sales) to identify, develop and implement fragrance technology solutions addressing external clients’ needs.
• Engage with the Patent Group when IP potential is identified.
• Work closely with external FMCG customers to drive technical marketing and promotion of fragrance technology solutions
• Independently planned, organise and execute complex technical projects for technology validation, customer marketing and troubleshooting
• Develop and coach direct or indirect reports with respect to functional competencies to build an efficiently operating group
• Foster a culture of communication and information through sharing and collaboration across local, regional, and global internal functions
• Promote and embed EHS guidelines / best practices

Your professional profile includes:

• Significant years of experience in the fragrance and/or FMCG industries 
• A PhD and/ or University degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as BioChemistry, Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry is added advantage
• Fluent in English and Japanese is much required
• Fundamental understanding of Fragrance Sciences and Technologies
• Experience working in an international environment 
• Project management experience
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Action-oriented with highly efficient priority setting
• Very strong business acumen and comfortable with managing ambiguity
• Problem-solving
• Genuine and relentless customer focus
• Ability to work through a matrix of indirect and disassociated global reporting lines
• Ability to develop, motivate and direct others
• Adheres to and establishes high ethical values and beliefs
